Actually, I have posted something about the very same subject on Reddit a year ago but it didn't get any attention. Eventually, I still think the same and I think the Eddsworld fans on Newgrounds probably have been in the fandom for more than enough that they probably have opinions on this too. I really appreciate Matt's efforts for trying to keep posting new episodes but there are still a lot to fix.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate it. I just don't like it. You're allowed to like it but a lot of people left the fandom and Eddsworld Beyond is one of the reasons why.

So today, I will be listing the reasons why I don't like Eddsworld Beyond:

1) Writing

It's actually not even that bad but you can't get the same vibe you used to get from the Classic Eddsworld episodes. I personally don't get excited while waiting for a new episode anymore. The jokes are unfunny and very repetitive. It almost feels like another show. The plot doesn't really make you think about it for at least a few minutes after finishing it.

2) The personalities of the characters

They don't act like themselves anymore. It just feels awkward. Matt is still Matt, of course, but I can't say the same thing for Edd and Tom. It's like someone else took over their bodies.

3) Tord

Tord merches?? Really? He's my favorite character and he is also my favorite person in the crew besides Edd but I don't think that was a good idea to bring out Tord's persona after years even though he said he didn't want to be a part of the show anymore. I think it was just for clout because Tord is the most loved character in the series.

(EXTRA COMMENTARY)

Some people were not satisfied with ''The End 1'' and ''The End 2'' but actually, it was a pretty good ending for Eddsworld. An ending that the viewer could actually imagine about its aftermath. Matt could've focused on WTFuture based on fans' opinions if he actually wanted views. Or maybe he could've come with something really unexpected that everyone would be happy. Rewatching the old episodes can actually help him to write a plot that ACTUALLY feels like Eddsworld.
